The President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH) is an advisory body to the President of the United States on cultural policy. The First Lady of the United States serves as Honorary Chair. The Committee is comprised of distinguished artists, scholars, museum and library practitioners, and philanthropists who are appointed by the President of the United States. The Committee also includes agency principals from the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services, as well as ex-officio members from the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian, the Library of Congress, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
